Obama January 2011 State of The Union – Energy and Green Jobs Promises!

The Obama administration has been promising “$150 billion in the next 10 years” in government spending for clean energy ever since the president was a candidate running for office back in 2008. Luckily this is still a main focus for President Obama. The President expressed his intent to support programs that will help our nation pursue cleaner sources of energy and thus leading to thousands of new jobs, just a few weeks ago in his State of The Union speech.
Experts believe this President is one of the most progressive and aggressive in terms of pushing out a clean energy agenda. His goal is to devote $15 billion dollars in clean energy investment each year, stating that this is both an environmental and economical investment.
He again reaffirmed the “weaning America off its foreign oil dependence and shifting to renewable sources” reminding us of the recent BP Oil Spill, and he spoke about GE’s efforts "investing in innovation, building a clean energy center, an advanced battery manufacturing plant, and other state-of-the-art facilities in Schenectady that are resulting in hundreds of new American jobs and contributing to America's global economic leadership" in part due to the recent appointment of General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt - Head of the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
No matter how you look at it, this is a “win-win” for Americans, since President Obama’s continuous focus, devotion and work towards clean energy will help both the employment and environmental problems we are currently facing.
